Website Resources:

The WoWinSchool Wiki – http://wowinschool.pbworks.com – this is the official wiki for the project.  Here we share news, technical information about implementation, an extensive list of supporting research, and examples of student work.

What research supports this project? – http://wowinschool.pbworks.com/Supporting-Research - There’s a growing list of academic research that supports game-based learning and the use of virtual worlds and simulations in learning.  We also have some great videos available as well.

The Cognitive Dissonance Guild – http://cognitivedissonance.guildportal.com – Are you an educator interested in exploring World of Warcraft?  Maybe you already plan and are looking to network with other educators.  Cognitive Dissonance is a guild designed to help educators learn about World of Warcraft and other virtual worlds.

What about the violence? – http://www.pbs.org/kcts/videogamerevolution/impact/myths.html – It’s a question that’s often asked when it comes to integrating video games like World of Warcraft into the school environment.  This is a link to an excellent article by Dr. Henry Jenkins of MIT.  There are more links and resources on the subject available in the Supporting Research section of the wiki.
